I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. My love of nature began by exploring the park next to my home when I was a child. Pennypack Park lies in a ravine, tucked away from the city streets around it, a natural oasis in the bustle of urban life. I learned photography from my father. He taught me to look beyond and beneath the surface to find the beauty in living things, large and small.

I have traveled extensively, seen and done many wonderful things. Some of the greatest beauty I have found right near home. My passion as a photographer is to capture wildlife and our natural world in a way that portrays the spirit as well as the form. I hope that through my pictures, I will invite others to share my love for our fellow creatures and the world that embraces all of us.

"Dreamcatcher"

Some Native Americans consider the wolf to be a spiritual guide or companion. Many others know the loyalty and love of our own canine companions. Many children go to sleep and awaken more peacefully and securely because their faithful best friends are at their bedsides. This collage is meant to express the peaceful, dreamy feeling of awaking gently on a quiet morning.

"The River Of Time"

The stream has green and orange sediments that give it the colors. To me, it made the reflected trees look like they had foliage. It was like looking into the past or the future-to the greens of spring and the colors of fall.

Within the grey winter forest
lives the promise of a verdant spring and a vibrant autumn.

I think we are like that forest.
As humans reach their own Decembers,
though outwardly they seem brittle and grey,
within each soul lives the verdancy of his own spring,
and the vibrancy of his own autumn.

And like that forest, one day we will again be made new
in the Eternal Spring...

"The Warning"
This looks more aggressive than it is. Wolves settle disagreements by big displays of seeming ferociousness, but rarely are any of them injured. This is their way of arguing. The wolf on the bottom was intrudung in the space of the top wolf, who let him know by snarling and mouthing his muzzle. After a few seconds of grumbling, they both moved on. Minutes later, they were calm and friendly with each other.

"Snowcone" -
This Arctic wolf was eating the snow with delight. he pushed his whole muzzle into it to get it all over his face.
"Wilderness Spirits"

To me, wolves embody the spirit of the wild places. They move silently, softly, as if one with the shifting shadows of the moonlight; their eyes reflecting the cool brightness of the moon. Their gentle song fills the air and surrounds you, like the mountain mists at night. They are intense and passionate, yet quiet and elusive. They feel the rhythm of the earth, that many of us have forgotten.
